NYSFSA is participating in the NYSED ESSA Think Tank

NYSED has asked for NYSFSA to participate in a Think Tank , comprised of over 75 Educational and Community organizations to discuss and author our State’s response the new Federal law, Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).   The Think Tank has had conference calls and all day conferences in Albany to begin the work and work on draft responses to the law. Six committees have been formed and meet separately via conference call or in person.   The first drafts of the workgroups will be presented to the Board of Regents at their October meeting for their input and a final draft should be completed by April .  One document is already on the web for public comment and we ask all active practitioners to write a response to it.  This is your opportunity to have a voice in the Educational policy of our great state.
