Long considered New York's preeminent organization for school supervisors and administrators, NYSFSA represents more than 15,000 active and retired members in Buffalo, Yonkers and New York City.

The organization plays an active role in shaping education policy through its constant presence in Albany. LEGAL ASSISTANCE
Our general counsel is available to protect the job security and collective bargaining rights of our members. Trained, skilled and experienced negotiators are also available to help with contract negotiations. NYSFSA has negotiated more contracts for school administrators than any other group in New York State.


LEGISLATIVE ASSISTANCE
Through strategic monitoring, advocacy and coalition development, NYSFSA maintains strong relationships with local and state lawmakers. These relationships and our members' expertise give NYSFSA a unique perspective in shaping public policy and protecting our interests. Similarly, AFSA and the AFL-CIO work to protect our interests on the national level.


COMMUNICATION
Members regularly receive NYSFSA's official newsletter VIEWPOINTS, which features an overview of news and events around the state. Members also receive the AFSA News, which covers matters of interest at the national level. A NYSFSA website is also now online - www.nysfsa.org.


AFSA
Members of NYSFSA are automatically enrolled as members of AFSA - The American Federation of School Administrators. (AFSA, in turn, is one of several dozen chapters of the AFL-CIO) Headquartered in Washington DC, AFSA is the only national education organization providing labor, professional and occupational services to public school principals, assistant principals, administrators, and supervisors.
